Abstract

Micronutrient malnutrition is a serious childhood dietary problem in developing nations. Deficiencies in vitamins A and B , iron, folic acid and zinc, are preventable causes of poor childhood growth and school performance. Sustainable strategies exist to eradicate malnutrition. This paper discusses the negative effect of vitamin and mineral malnutrition on childhood growth and education, and effective strategies to eliminate them.
