Abstract

Background: The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of cardiometabolic risk factors and examine whether the presence of metabolic abnormalities is associated with antipsychotic drug use andthe lifestyle of patients with psychotic disorders. Methods: This study was cross-sectional and was carried out at the Jamot Hospital in Yaounde (Cameroon), on patients with psychotic disorders and under treatment. Parameters performed on participants were physical examination and fasting glucose.
