Dementiais characterized by cognitive decline and deterioration of daily function, often with behavioral disturbances. Degenerative dementia includes many subgroups like Alzheimer's disease (AD), frontotemporal dementia, etc, and nondegenerative dementia mainly encompasses vascular dementia, traumatic brain dementia, and so on. Alzheimer's diseaseis the mostcommon dementia in the elderly, accounting for 60% of cases (1). There isn't specific therapy for degenerative dementia, only symptomatic treatment.
