Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) is a major global health problem and economically important zoonotic diseases worldwide. This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of tuberculosis and risk factor in human and cattle at Mymensingh district in Bangladesh. In this study, 3085 human and 649 cattle were examined during January 2009 to December 2011 at Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh district. The overall prevalence of tuberculosis in human and animal was 9.7% and 2.34%, respectively (plt;0.01). The difference in the prevalence of tuberculosis in human and cattle is statistically significant (plt;0.001). Statistically significant higher prevalence was found in the age group of #x2264;2029 years and 30#x2264;39 years than 40#x2264;49 years, 50#x2264;59 years and #x2265;60 years age group of human (plt;0.001).
