Abstract

Objective Study of vascular aging markers in conjunction with metabolic parameters and the degree of cardiovascular risk CVR Materials and methods The study included 298 patients aged 40 to 69 years old Parameters of lipid metabolism immune inflammation endothelial dysfunction telomere length insulin resistance biological age BA and CVR were determined Differences were deemed statistically significant at p 0 05 Results Significant changes occur in lipid and carbohydrate metabolism parameters as well as markers of immune and endothelial inflammation the degree of intensity of which depends on the CVR degree During this process significant changes occur in the length of telomeres which have a relation with hyperinsulinemia Telomeres are shorter in more than 50 of patients suffering from even moderate CVR
