Abstract

Background Coronavirus has created a pandemic and extraordinary global Health crisis Coronavirus disease 2019 COVID-19 is an illness caused by a novel coronavirus now called Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 SARS COV-2 The virus can cause mild to severe respiratory diseases The objective of this study is to summarize the Maternal and Fetal outcome in COVID-19 Pregnancies Materials and Methods We conducted an observational study over two months in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at a COVID care Centre Cama and Albless Hospital Mumbai The study enrolled a total of 192 COVID positive pregnant women with inclusion and exclusion criteria We noted Antepartum Intrapartum and Neonatal parameters using preformed proforma Results In our study we observed that most COVID positive pregnant women belonged to the age group of 25-29years COVID-19 is more prevalent among primigravida 35 Preeclampsia 37 is more commonly associated with COVID patients The Majority of pregnancies 74 extended till Term Vaginal Delivery 60 was the most common mode of Delivery 10 COVID positive pregnant women admitted to the Intensive Care Unit Maternal Mortality was 4 among COVID positive pregnancies 13 of the babies tested COVID positive born to COVID positive mothers NICU admission was required for 38 of the positive babies Only one neonatal death occurred among COVID positive babies
