intestinal ischaemia is a surgical emergency requiring rapid diagnosis, with reported mortality rates of up to 50%.1,2In patients presenting with intestinal ischaemia secondary to mesenteric venous thrombosis (MVT), over 50% were found to have a specific cause, including13-16% secondary to underlying malignancy.1,3 We report an interesting case of breast cancer presenting acutely with mesenteric venous thrombosis and intestinal ischaemia
